Last Friday, our CTO Bence Szilágyi was invited to a roundtable with the Chancellor of the Exchequer, HM Treasury, Andrea Taylor, CEO of Edinburgh Innovations, Peter Mathieson, Principal of The University of Edinburgh, and Mark Parsons, Director of EPCC, on the occasion of EPCC being named the UK's first National Supercomputing Centre.
The roundtable gave us an opportunity to highlight the many ways Edinburgh Innovations and EPCC have supported us along our journey, and to draw attention to the significant copyright challenges, and other emerging issues, arising from generative AI. These include IP infringement, the use of copyrighted material in AI training datasets, questions of content authenticity, data privacy, and the broader implications for creators and users alike.
